Older children will learn a great deal by clicking on maps, creating their own adventure stories, solving quizzes and retrieving information from past TV episodes. Younger children will enjoy the matching games.

This is a good site for students and teachers. Web workshops, videos and more. Lots of free stuff to download including material for class lessons and more. Series include "What's It Like Where you Live", The Biology of Plants, The Environment; Life Habitats Video Series. FYI, I downloaded the one on Biomes in less than a minute and found it to be a very informative outline with ideas for activities and ways to promote discussion with students.

A fun site for children to learn a bit more about animal culture. Any child proficient with a mouse can play most games on the site. Once an older child or parent gets a younger child started they can download coloring pages, play matching games,"Mystery Animal Game," "Finding Mommy Adventure," or ""Snacktime" to learn to identify animal body parts, sounds or foods. Most games are interactive and speak the directions as you pass the mouse over the virtual game boards and help buttons.

These links take you directly to the pages for directions and kid's e-mail about creating each project. The projects use items usually found around your home. I like it because it teaches us about the world around us and gives us ideas to create toys and games using recyclable items. Parents and older children will enjoy creating these projects with younger children. They are really simple to create. Just print the directions on each project and enjoy.
